Willow Glen Kitchen Family Room Remodel: San Jose, California

This project in Willow Glen, San Jose, California is a mostly interior remodel of the kitchen, family room, and dining areas of this existing ranch style house.  The existing house had been added to with multiple poorly executed remodels and additions of the years.  The existing house suffered from a poor integration of these added spaces and bad trim out and detailing of the interior work in general.

We decided to remodel the kitchen entirely, remove the out of date facing on the fireplace, and remove an existing built in entertainment center that was nicely built but visually unsuited for the new kitchen family room design.  We also did some minor structural work to reconfigure some of the structural beams so that they did not visually interfere with the flow of the new interior space.

The newly remodeled kitchen, family room, and dining area has a much better flow and the interior spaces are much more integrated with one another.  The house now has a consist traditional detailing with a clean contemporary flair.
